Chuck Kornely

Candidate For ARD

Biography

I joined the NSP Jan. 1, 1998 at Norway Mountain, Norway, Mich. .   Soon after I joined NSP, the NSP-C Division/PSIA Ski School was formed, which I became a member and one of the North Central Region Instructors.  In 2000, I became a candidate for the Senior program and March of that year I became a Senior level patroller.  After moving out to the East in 2001, I patrolled at Black Mountain, New Hampshire, and Neshoba Valley.  For the last 5 years, I am proud to be affiliated with a great patrol at Bradford Ski Area.

If I am elected I would encourage the Eastern Division to adopt a Ski and Toboggan training program that is similar to NSP-C divisionŐs program.  Since PSIA and NSP share many of the same philosophies, it is a practical approach to integrate the PSIAŐs teaching methods for skier enhancement and toboggan training.

Another goal of mine would be to help develop programs that would encourage younger folks to join NSP.  As I ski at other resorts and rub shoulders with other patrollers, I notice a lot of patrollers with grey hair such as myself.  I would work on a program that looks at recruiting the younger population for an exciting adventure with NSP.

Respectfully Submitted,
