National Ski Patrol News Alert
Dear NSP Members:
As winter turns into spring, the National office has not slowed down. We have three very different, equally important, happenings to report to the membership.

The National Nomination Committee has announced that the search has begun for qualified candidates to serve on the NSP Board of Directors. Every NSP member is encouraged to participate in the process, either by applying themselves or encouraging a qualified fellow member to become a candidate for one of the five seats coming available. Completed applications are due by MIDNIGHT, JUNE 1, 2008 MDT. T he application and an outline of specific qualifications are available on the NSP website: www.nsp.org. Prospective applicants should review the CALL FOR CANDIDATES. Let's make this our best turnout ever!
NSP 70TH ANNIVERSARY BANQUET ON JUNE 20
The NSP Board of Directors cordially invites all NSP members to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the National Ski Patrol at a very special anniversary event in Lakewood, Colo., on Friday June 20. The event will be held in conjunction with the NSP Annual Board Meeting. Join the NSP Board, division directors, volunteer program directors, staff and fellow patrollers for this special evening that will incorporate a banquet, silent auction and guest speakers including NSP National Historian Dr. Gretchen Besser. Space is limited to 150 people. More details are available at www.nsp.org or contact Christina Gouwens at NSP for more information (cgouwens@nsp.org; 303-988-1111). POWDERFALL 2009 AT SNOWBIRD
NSP's signature Annual Patroller Education Conference will return to Snowbird, Utah, from April 14-17, 2009. Unlike previous events, this will be a first of a kind opportunity for the NSP membership and leadership to come together to explore new ideas, enhance important business and leadership skills, identify future challenges, make new friends, test abilities and take part in shaping the future of this great organization. The program will benefit all NSP paid and volunteer members including Division Directors, Patrol Directors, Program Directors, Legal Advisors, Medical Advisor, Physician Patrollers, Ski and Toboggan and avalanche technicians. Contact NSP for details or watch as information is released over the summer and fall.
Sincerely,
The NSP Staff
