Candidate for Elected position of Regional Director for the EMARI Region
I am running for the position of EMARI Region Director. I was appointed EMARI Region Director in April 2010 according the EMARI and Eastern Division bylaws as the EMARI Region Director John Shipman was elected Eastern Division Director. I am an avid patroller and would be honored to represent the region membership. Voting patrol members of the EMARI Region (registered as active alpine, Nordic or auxiliary patrollers) will have one vote to cast at the fall refreshers and I ask you for your vote.
Below is a brief outline about my patrolling experience:
- I have been active in patrolling since 1979
- I am currently active and registered NSP with Ski Bradford.
- Prior to Bradford I was active in the NH region as an individual patroller, patrol director for 10 years and on the NH Regional staff for 5 years.
- I became a Senior Patroller in1991
- Awarded Purple Merit Star in 1991
- EMARI Assistant Regional Director for 2.5 years
- Currently an active OEC Instructor
- Currently an active Alpine S&T Instructor
- Currently an Instructor Trainer (IT) in the EMARI Region
- Received National Appointment in 2009
- Currently Eastern Division Senior committee chair
- Currently EMARI Region RD, member of the Easter Division’s BOD
I look forward to being able to serve the region patrol membership as region director. I believe that the region should be run for the entire patrol membership; in an open, honest and transparent process. The region director should listen to the members and have the ability to implement a strategy that meets the needs and expectations of all patrollers. If elected EMARI Regional Director by the patrol membership I look forward to serving the EMARI Region’s membership and patrols. I also pledge that I will be visible by actively meeting patrols during the season to hear first hand your thoughts concerns. This collaborative approach is key to understanding areas to improve, new ideas as well as areas we are doing a good job. I look forward to the ability to continue to serve you the patrollers as the EMARI Region Director.
