John Shipman - Candidate for EMARI Region Director

I am running again for the position of EMARI Region Director. Following the EMARI Region and Eastern Division by-laws, the RD election shall be conducted at the fall 2009 individual EMARI Region OEC patrol refreshers. Voting patrol members (registered as active alpine, Nordic or auxiliary patrollers) will have one vote.

OBelow is a brief outline about my patrolling experience:

• I have been an active and registered NSP/Wachusett Mtn. patroller for about 24 years. Became a Senior Patroller 23 years ago.
• EMARI Senior OEC Program Director (now Senior EMM) – 4 years
• EMARI OEC Program Administrator – 10 years
• EMARI Awards Advisor – 10 years
• Currently EMARI Region RD, member of the Eastern Division’s BOD and elected April ’09 the Assistant Eastern Division Director.

My belief is that the management of the region should be run for the entire patrol membership; in good faith, open, honest and transparent. The region director should have the vision and the ability to implement a strategy to meet the needs and expectations of all patrollers. An energetic, organized and fiscally sound region with effective personnel delivering up-to-date NSP programs can be an asset to every patrol and patrol member.

If elected again this fall by the patrol membership, I look forward to serving the EMARI Region’s NSP members and patrols.
